Twofinger Designs Minimalist Front Pocket Wallet is not just another minimal wallet – it is a minimal wallet that has very unique design elements and is well-made with high quality Chromexcel leather. I have the burgundy color.

All Twofinger Design products are 100% made by hand — hand cut, hand stitched – no machines of any kind.

What I like:
1. Chromexcel leather – it’s my favorite leather, hands down. It’s soft, very rich in color, smells awesome and is very, very durable.

2. Leather thickness – Tommy uses 4oz for this Chromexcel wallet, which is a 1.6mm equivalent (or 1/16th of an inch). I feel this thickness is perfect. Not too thin and flimsy but not so thick that it feels weighty or bulky.

3. Design elements:

Element #1: The cash strap is very unique and adds quite a bit of style to this very simple, minimal wallet.

Element #2: I like the shape of the card slot. The cutout goes from one end to the other and scoops down gradually. This means that most of your card is covered but you can see the top of it. In contrast, many of these card slots are cut with what I call a thumb notch, or some are cut in the shape of a long V…both of which I don’t really like.

Element #3: I like the corners of the wallet. It’s not square or rounded like 99% of the other wallets out there. The square edges are clipped, making a small flat area that is diagonal to the 2 sides. (much easier to see in the pictures than to explain)

Element #4: Fits US cash folded in half. I really hate curling up cash by folding it in quarters.

Element #5: The edges are beveled, black and overall burnished very nicely.

Element #6: I don’t know how he does it but this is one of the first cash slots that I feel just works. Most cash slots are too tight, too small, hard to slide cash in and out….generally a pain in the butt to deal with. This slot just works. Cash fits folded in half, which works best for me.

Ok, here we go with the close ups.

Filled:

I carry about 5-6 cards (plus my train pass and medical card that are much thinner cards) along with about 5-10 bills. I’m also one of those folks that also carries “emergency money” and a “blank check” tucked somewhere in my wallet.

What I don’t like:
When I first got the wallet, my cash would get routinely snagged on the way in by the cutout on the right side of the cash strap. I found that this was primarily an issue with the wallet being new. Once it was broken in a bit, I didn’t have this problem anymore. Other than that initial issue that I no longer have a problem with, I have no other constructive criticism for this wallet. None.

All minimal wallets are by definition simple but the Twofinger Design Minimalist Front Pocket Carry wallet amps it up a notch with a beautiful and thoughtful design that is thin & light, and perfectly functional. It just fits the stuf I carry perfectly. This has quickly become of of my favorite wallets.
